Jus Mundi partners with the Ukrainian Arbitration Association

Jus Mundi and Ukrainian Arbitration Association (UAA) have joined forces to improve global access to key Ukrainian national decisions relating to set-aside and enforcement proceedings in international arbitration.

Under this new and important partnership, Jus Mundi will provide global access to national decisions in over 600 cases related to the enforcement of international arbitration awards, with an aim to include set-aside decisions in the future.

The materials will be freely accessible and publicly available through Jus Mundi’s AI-powered search engine, helping practitioners and researchers improve legal understanding, decision-making, and efficiency.

Commenting on the partnership, Olena Perepelynska, UAA President, stated that “This is an important initiative to promote Ukraine as a seat of arbitration and to provide access to information about cases involving Ukrainian parties or assets. Ukraine is an arbitration-friendly jurisdiction: Ukrainian courts grant around 90% of applications for enforcement of arbitral awards and less than 1% of application for setting aside of the arbitral awards. The global access to this court practice might serve both for academic and practical purposes and contribute to enhancing transparency of the arbitration system”.

This partnership became possible due to comprehensive research of relevant national decisions conducted under the auspices of the UAA in 2019-2020. You can learn more about the research and its results here.

Jus Mundi and UAA look forward to incorporating the Ukrainian materials into Jus Mundi’s comprehensive international law and arbitration database, offering the international legal community a valuable opportunity to enhance their understanding of Ukrainian arbitration.

Jean-Rémi de Maistre, CEO of Jus Mundi, commented that the company’s vision has always been to make legal information available for all, stating, “When it comes to respect for the Rule of Law, we believe that everyone has equal responsibility. But this duty is made difficult when practitioners find it challenging to access the global legal materials they need.

We’re proud to be partnering with the UAA to open access to information regarding a new jurisdiction, facilitating easier global access to legal resources.” he added. “It goes without saying that greater public access to a diversity of materials serves to strengthen arbitration, enhancing its function as a primary means of dispute resolution around the globe.”
